The life of a frog

by  Arunori
The life of a frog The life of a frog

In June I was in a 1-on-1 challenge against Joshua Goutam on the the English origami forum. The theme was 'pond life'. I decided to represent the life cycle of a frog, as it was one of the first things I thought of when the theme was suggested.

The design of the frog was easy: a simple tiling of 22.5 degree structures, allowing for long back legs and other details. The froglet was made by changing the axis of symmetry to allow for a longer tail. The design of the lily pad was also simple, just a preliminary fold with some modifications and a few closed wraps to allow for an almost seamless design. The tadpole was folded from a kite base and the tadpole with back legs was folded from a little-bird base.

I have included crease pattens for the frog, froglet and lily pad so that you can have a go at folding them too.

Excellent! I love it, very conceptual. I love compositions; I myself have done living rooms. And thanks for sharing the CPs.

Don't stop presenting your models, ok?!
